Step Energy was appointed to deliver a renewable energy solution for the newly constructed St Bernadette’s Rugby Football Club in South Bristol.
The new sports facility, funded by Bristol City Council and procured through the Procure Partnership Framework, includes a clubhouse, two rugby pitches, and a training area. The wider development was designed to support self-sufficiency through revenue generated from events, sports activities, and community hire.
The solar PV system was installed during the main build, maximising the available south-facing roof area and eliminating risks associated with retrofitting once construction was complete. This approach ensures the system contributes immediately to the club’s sustainability goals and long-term operational savings.
