Large-Scale Solar PV Installation

Jelmac Properties appointed Step Energy to deliver a turnkey solar PV solution for their industrial building, currently leased to LISI Aerospace. The project combined essential cut-edge roof repairs with a large-scale solar photovoltaic installation, designed to future-proof the property, reduce operational costs, and cut carbon emissions.

Working closely with the client team, Step Energy managed the full process — from scaffolding and roof works to PV design, electrical upgrades, and installation — ensuring a seamless, safe, and efficient delivery.

Step Energy Scope of Works

  • Scaffolding & Access: Full scaffold installation to enable safe roof works and PV installation.
  • Roof Repairs: Carried out cut-edge corrosion repairs to extend the lifespan of the roof.
  • Electrical Infrastructure: Upgraded systems to accommodate renewable generation.
  • Solar PV Array: Designed and installed a 291 kWp system, including:
    • 650 x 450W solar PV panels
    • 3 x 100kW inverters
    • Solid rail mounting system for durability and safety

Outcomes & Benefits

Renewable Generation: System capacity of 291 kWp, producing approx. 247 MWh annually.
Carbon Savings: Estimated 47.5 tonnes of CO₂ avoided per year, equivalent to planting 2,184 trees annually.
