Renewable Energy Installation
Step Energy was appointed to design and install a renewable energy solution for Oakley Grange, a new luxury residential care home in Warwickshire. The system was carefully integrated into the main build programme to maximise available roof areas and reduce risks associated with retrofitting once construction was complete.

The care home, developed by Cinnamon Luxury Care, provides 66 en-suite rooms and five deluxe care suites, offering premium facilities including assisted living and specialist dementia care. While Step Energy’s scope focused on renewable energy, the wider project incorporated luxury amenities, therapy rooms, and bespoke joinery, highlighting a high standard of design and construction across the build.
Scope of Works
Step Energy’s works included:
- Solar PV Design & Installation:
- 85 x 415W panels mounted on pitched roofs
- 57 x 550W panels installed in ballasted arrays on flat roofs
- 70 kW of inverters supporting the system
- Integration with New Build: Coordinated installation alongside the main build programme to minimise risk and ensure seamless delivery.
- Performance Optimisation: System designed to maximise energy generation across both roof types, aligned with Cinnamon Care’s carbon reduction objectives.

Project Benefits
Annual Renewable Generation: 60,080 kWh of clean electricity
CO₂ Reduction: 11.62 tonnes annually, supporting Cinnamon Care’s sustainability goals
Risk Reduction: Installing PV during the new build avoided challenges of retrofitting on a high-specification finished building
Future-Proofed Energy: System contributes to long-term energy cost savings and supports low-carbon operation

Summary
Step Energy’s installation at Oakley Grange demonstrates the company’s expertise in delivering renewable energy solutions for luxury care facilities. By integrating solar PV systems into a new build, Step Energy helped Cinnamon Luxury Care achieve sustainability targets, maximise energy efficiency, and future-proof the care home against rising energy costs.
This project forms part of Step Energy’s wider portfolio of high-quality renewable energy installations in the care sector, delivering measurable environmental benefits without compromising the luxury and functionality of the building.
